Thanks to excellent work from the volunteers of the Pinebrook Trails Committee and the generous donation of time and equipment from Gorgoza Water Company, the Lower Spring Trail has been reopened. The snow melts and heavy rains in the spring and early summer created significant damage to the trail with the creek finding new alignments, sweeping away bridges, and exposing Water Company infrastructure. Work remains to complete erosion control in a number of areas, and removal of debris, so please use care on the trail as folks will be working. Many thanks go out to those who helped restore the trail: Jeremy Jenkins, Chane Kellerstrass, Stan Plaisier, and Stephan Herrera.
If you hear chain saws buzzing….Forestry crews will begin thinning and piling in the Pinebrook open space above the Spring Creek Trailhead, and above and along Pinebrook Rd and Canyon Drive Ct. in what we are calling Unit 5. Please be aware that Meeks, Lower Meeks, Upper Meeks, and iDare trails may be impacted by this work. If you use these trails while work is being performed, please use caution. If you have any questions, please contact pinebrookfiresafety@gmail.com.
The April meeting of the Pinebrook HOA Board of Directors was postponed due to some meeting participants being unavailable. All members of the Pinebrook HOA are welcome to attend our next meeting which is scheduled for Tuesday, May 2nd, at 6:00pm in-person at the offices of Gorgoza Mutual Water Company, 7950 Pinebrook Road.
**** NOV 22ND UPDATE: During the week of Nov 6th, approximately 2/3 of piles in Pinebrook were burned across the three work areas that comprise a little over 11 acres. On Wednesday, Nov. 23rd, controlled pile burning will recommence in the PMA open space behind Ecker Hill Middle School.
The Pinebrook HOA (PHOA) and the Pinebrook Master Association (PMA) will be performing controlled pile burning. This work, to be undertaken by local forestry expert Alpine Forestry, should occur in November or December of 2022 and will begin when an approved “burn window” is opened by state and local authorities; see below map with the areas in which burning will occur. We are told it is possible work could begin as soon as this weekend (Nov. 5th or 6th). Once begun, all work is expected to be completed within 10 days.
When the PHOA is notified of when work will begin, this post will be updated with those details. Please contact pinebrookfiresafety@gmail.com or Don Brown (435.901.4040) or David Geffen (415.328.6474) with any questions.
